Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has issued a strong warning regarding the sexual harassment allegations surfacing at its Nashik unit. TCS Chairman N Chandrasekaran stated that any associate found guilty of misconduct will face "strict action." Aarthi Subramanian, President and Chief Operating Officer of TCS, is overseeing this critical internal inquiry.TCS has also constituted an Oversight Committee specifically to review the findings of the ongoing investigations. Scope of Allegations Reaches Broader Investigations
The initial case, which came to light in March, involved a complaint from a woman working at TCS’s Nashik BPO unit. She alleged that a colleague had maintained a physical relationship with her under the pretense of promising marriage. This singular incident has escalated into a wider police investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik police.The SIT registered additional FIRs covering mental and sexual harassment incidents reported between 2022 and 2026. Furthermore, the company is facing allegations related to inaction from senior managers in response to these complaints over several years.
CEO Promises Procedural Reinforcement Moving Forward
N Chandrasekaran addressed the possibility of procedural deficiencies within the existing Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) mechanisms at TCS. He stated that if any procedural failures are identified, the processes will be significantly "beefed up." This proactive stance aims to strengthen the framework for all employees globally.The company is working closely with authorities and is awaiting the conclusion of the formal investigation process. Chandrasekaran reiterated his assurance that strict action will be taken against any associate found responsible for workplace misconduct.
