Colombo, August 14, 2026 – TVS Motor Company (TVSM), a global leader in two and three-wheeler segments, announced the launch of the TVS Orbiter electric scooter in Sri Lanka. Designed to redefine everyday urban commuting, the TVS Orbiter combines advanced technology with functional design, offering an impressive range and various rider assistance features aimed at enhancing the daily mobility experience.

The launch is part of TVS Motor Company’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio globally. The TVS Orbiter offers a real-world range of 115 kilometers from an IDC range of 158 km, powered by a 3.1 kWh battery. Key features include the industry-first 14' front wheel for stability and comfort, a spacious 34-litre under-seat bootspace, and Hill Hold Assist and Cruise Control.

The scooter focuses on efficiency and control, featuring an enhanced aerodynamic design, an upright ergonomic handlebar, and a straight-line footboard measuring 290 mm. The TVS Orbiter is equipped with several advanced technological features to elevate customer convenience and safety. These include a connected mobile app, front LED headlamp with a visor, a coloured LCD connected cluster that displays incoming calls, and USB 2.0 charging access.

Safety and connectivity are paramount in the design of the TVS Orbiter. The scooter offers proactive safety alerts such as anti-theft, crash/fall alerts, geo-fencing, and time-fencing alerts. Rider confidence is bolstered by features like Hill Hold Assist, Cruise Control, and Parking Assist. Furthermore, the vehicle supports effortless OTA updates, providing continuous enhancements to the riders experience.

He noted that the TVS Orbiter is designed to transform urban commuting by making it cleaner and smarter, reflecting the company's vision for sustainable solutions worldwide.

Madhu Prakash Singh, Vice President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, added that the launch presents a significant opportunity given Sri Lanka’s high penetration rate of electric two-wheelers globally. He emphasized that the combination of advanced technology, striking design, and attractive pricing positions the Orbiter to set new benchmarks in electric mobility for young urban riders.

At the launch, Geethal Anthony, CEO of TVS Lanka, highlighted the increasing consumer preference for sustainable mobility solutions within Sri Lanka. She confirmed that beyond launching a compelling product, TVS is committed to investing in a comprehensive ecosystem, including reliable after-sales support, spare parts availability, and trained EV specialists across the country.

The TVS Orbiter will be available in four vibrant colours: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
