Colombo, August 13, 2026 — TVS Motor Company (TVSM), a global manufacturer of two and three-wheelers, launched its connected passenger electric three-wheeler, the TVS King EV MAX, in Sri Lanka. This introduction reinforces TVS Motor Company's commitment to innovation and sustainability by providing a smart solution for urban commuting and mobility within the nation.

The TVS King EV MAX is designed for robust urban transport, combining superior durability with advanced technology. The vehicle boasts an impressive certified range of 179 km on a single charge. To minimize downtime for users, the model features fast-charging capability, allowing the battery to charge from 0 to 80% in just two hours and thirty minutes.

Engineered for performance and efficiency, the TVS King EV MAX provides responsive handling, accelerating from 0 to 30 km/h in 3.7 seconds. It is powered by a 11 kW motor and features a 51.2V lithium-ion LFP battery. The three-wheeler offers multiple operational modes—ECO at 40 km/h, City at 50 km/h, and Power at 60 km/h—ensuring dependable performance for daily operations.

Key features of the TVS King EV MAX include:
  • Range: Certified range of 179 kms.
  • Battery Capacity: 9.2 kWh
  • Acceleration (0-30 km/h): 3.7 s
  • Safety: Water wading capability of 500 mm
  • Connectivity: Equipped with TVS SmartXonnect™, offering advanced features like real-time navigation, vehicle alerts, and diagnostics accessible via a smartphone.
  • Warranty: A best-in-class warranty of 6 years or 150,000 km (whichever is earlier).

The three-wheeler segment is vital to Sri Lanka's urban mobility, livelihood, tourism, and last-mile connectivity. The introduction of electric options aligns with the country’s shift toward sustainable transport due to their improved economics and suitability for shared public transit.

He highlighted that the vehicle was rigorously tested under Sri Lankan operating conditions, ensuring its suitability for the market.

Geethal Anthony, Chief Executive Officer of TVS Lanka, emphasized that Sri Lanka is a relevant market for the next phase of electric three-wheeler adoption. He committed that TVS Lanka will focus on building a robust ownership ecosystem through strong after-sales support, service readiness, spare parts availability, and customer assurance to support long-term confidence in electric mobility.

The TVS King EV MAX is currently available at select dealerships across Sri Lanka and is scheduled to be available through the entire channel network by September 2026.
