Titagarh Rail Systems Inaugurates New Design and Operations Centre in Uttarpara, Strengthening Manufacturing Capabilities​

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) inaugurated its new Design & Operations Centre at its Passenger Rail Systems (PRS) facility in Uttarpara, West Bengal. The event reinforced the company's focus on enhancing its in-house design, engineering, and operational capabilities within India.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Tapas Roy, Hon’ble Minister of Industry & Commerce for Government of West Bengal, and Shri Arjun Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Transport for the Government of West Bengal.

This facility is set to serve as a central hub for advanced engineering, design-led innovation, and technology development, supporting TRSL's expanding portfolio across passenger rail systems. The move underscores Titagarh's commitment to building world-class rail manufacturing capabilities in India from Bengal, thereby strengthening the state's position within the evolving rail manufacturing ecosystem.

The establishment aligns with the Sonar Bangla vision championed by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari Ji, placing the revival and industrialization of West Bengal at the core of its development agenda. TRSL reiterated its commitment to 'Make in India, Make for the World' and looks forward to new infrastructure and investment opportunities in collaboration with the state government.

Minister Tapas Roy commented on the occasion, expressing admiration for the manufacturing process at Titagarh. He noted that TRSL supplies trains to cities such as Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Patna, and Mumbai, including next generation modern Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains. He stated that the work undertaken by Titagarh is commendable and aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Shri Arjun Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Transport, emphasized the state's commitment to fostering a beneficial environment for industrial growth. While acknowledging this, he noted that industry enterprises such as Titagarh play a vital role in shaping Bengal's industrial future, and a strong partnership between the government and industry will unlock the state's potential for sustainable growth.

Speaking at the event, Shri Umesh Chowdhary, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, stated that the company is encouraged by the renewed focus of the Government of West Bengal on accelerating industrial and economic growth. He noted that the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for a Viksit Bharat aligns strongly with TRSL's commitment to advanced manufacturing in Bengal.

Shri Chowdhary affirmed that the inauguration of the Design & Operations Centre marks another significant milestone in strengthening design, engineering, and innovation capabilities. He expressed gratitude for the ministerial support, which reinforces Bengal's growing role in India's manufacturing and mobility ecosystem, affirming Titagarh's readiness to contribute to Bengal's industrial revival.
