Tempsens Instruments IPO Set to Ignite Market as India's Sensor Leader Targets ₹650 Crore Raise

Rajasthan-based Tempsens Instruments is poised for a significant listing, with its Initial Public Offering (IPO) scheduled to commence on August 20. The company, recognized as India's largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors, aims to raise a substantial Rs 650 crore through the public offering.

The IPO structure involves two key components. Tempsens is raising Rs 95 crore via a fresh issue of shares. Additionally, an Offer for Sale (OFS) segment totaling 1.85 crore equity shares, valued at Rs 555 crore, will be marketed by selling shareholders including Amit Talesara and Puneet Talesara.

IPO Details and Market Timeline

The entire IPO is priced within a band of Rs 285-300 per share, aiming to raise the total capital mentioned above. Investors interested in bidding must purchase a minimum lot of 50 equity shares, requiring an investment of Rs 15,000 at the upper price band.

The operational schedule is set for April 20 through August 24 for the public bidding phase. Anchor book reservations are scheduled to open one day prior to the main launch on August 19. The listing day for Tempsens Instruments has been fixed for BSE and NSE on August 28.

Financial Health and Corporate Growth

Tempsens Instruments demonstrated marked growth over the last couple of years, according to its reporting. The company reported revenue from operations at Rs 444.8 crore in FY26, a significant increase compared to Rs 274.8 crore recorded in FY24.

The firm's profitability also improved steadily. Net profit reached Rs 71 crore in FY26, up from Rs 40.9 crore in FY24. These financial metrics highlight the company's solid operational traction and expansion capabilities within specialized manufacturing sectors.

Market Leadership in Temperature Sensing

Tempsens Instruments operates as a leading thermal engineering firm specializing in custom temperature sensing solutions, electrical heating, and specialized cables. It currently holds nearly 10.5% of the market share within the temperature sensor segment.

Crucially, the company is noted as the only Indian manufacturer of non-contact temperature sensors as of March 31, 2026. Furthermore, it commanded approximately 21.3% of the non-contact temperature sensor market share in fiscal 2026, based on F&S report data.

Strategic Use of IPO Proceeds

The capital raised from the fresh issue is earmarked for targeted growth initiatives. Rs 18 crore will be allocated to funding capital expenditure required for specialized cable solutions and electrical heating solutions development within the company.

A major portion of the funds, specifically Rs 55 crore, is designated for managing outstanding liabilities. This includes partial or full pre-payment or scheduled re-payment of certain borrowings, alongside general corporate purposes.

Operational Scale and Global Footprint

Beyond its sensor technology, Tempsens Instruments is a prominent player in electrical heating solutions across India by installed capacity as of March 31, 2026. The company maintains core capabilities such as manufacturing low-voltage process heaters, while actively undertaking R&D into medium-voltage heaters.

Together with its joint ventures, the firm manages 15 manufacturing units globally. Ten of these crucial operational sites are currently located in Udaipur, demonstrating a committed physical infrastructure base.
