The initiative involves a 250 MW Solar Power Project that integrates a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).The project will be established on vacant defence land located at Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. NTPC REL is developing the facility to meet the needs of various defense establishments across Uttar Pradesh. The initiative has been approved by Hon'ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and holds the distinction of being the first large-scale solar power project incorporating BESS aimed at strengthening the energy security of defense organizations.
