Molbio Diagnostics made a resounding debut on both the NSE and BSE today, successfully listing at a significant premium over its initial public offering price. The stock opened at ₹980 per share across exchanges, translating into an impressive gain of 21.44 percent over the issue price of ₹807. This robust performance established the company with an estimated market capitalization of approximately ₹11,293.52 crore.

The listing day’s strength surpassed pre-listing expectations. Ahead of the IPO on August 17th, Molbio Diagnostics was already commanding a strong grey market premium (GMP) of ₹116, indicating an early demand premium of 14.37 percent over the issue price.

Investment Strength Confirmed by Overwhelming Subscription​

The company's Initial Public Offering (IPO), which totaled ₹939.70 crore, saw immense investor interest. By the close of bidding on August 12th, the IPO was subscribed at a staggering 70.27 times.

Demand was notably concentrated across institutional categories. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) drove significant demand, with their portion subscribing 186.39 times. Non-Institutional Investors (NII) contributed strongly, achieving a subscription rate of 49.80 times, while the retail segment subscribed at 12.96 times.

The IPO saw a robust allocation structure, involving both a fresh issue and an offer for sale. The original price band was fixed by the company at ₹768 to ₹807 per equity share.

IPO Funding Allocation Focuses on R&D and Manufacturing Expansion​

Molbio Diagnostics is committed to aggressive growth through strategic capital deployment. From the fresh issue component of the offering, a substantial amount of ₹105.54 crore has been earmarked for critical infrastructure. These funds are designated for establishing a research and development facility, a Centre of Excellence, and associated office space.

Furthermore, the company plans to dedicate ₹72.28 crore towards purchasing necessary plant, machinery, and other equipment required for its manufacturing facilities located in Goa and Visakhapatnam. The remaining IPO proceeds are allocated for general corporate purposes.

The issue structure included a fresh issue of ₹200 crore alongside an offer for sale amounting to ₹739.70 crore. Additionally, the offering reserved 20,520 shares for eligible employees and allotted 34.88 lakh shares to anchor investors as part of the QIB allocation.
