JSW Energy Commissions 1,081 MW Renewable Capacity, Reaching 14,535 MW Total Installed Power

JSW Energy Limited has announced the commissioning of 1,081 MW of renewable energy capacity since April 2026. This addition brings the company's total installed power capacity to 14,535 MW.

The new capacity infusion includes solar, wind, hybrid, and hydro power projects. The specific breakdown of this 1,081 MW addition comprises 442 MW of solar, 108 MW of wind, 381 MW of hybrid, and 150 MW of hydro power assets.

As a result of the recent commissioning, renewable energy constitutes 61% of JSW Energy's total installed capacity. The company's operational portfolio includes 3,764 MW of wind, 2,500 MW of solar, 832 MW of hybrid, and 1,781 MW of hydro assets. Furthermore, the thermal portfolio stands at 5,658 MW, maintaining the overall total installed capacity at 14,535 MW.

JSW Energy has also expanded its operational scope by commissioning a wind blade manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, which was previously announced in June 2026. This facility possesses an annual manufacturing capacity of 450 blades, adequate to support approximately 600 MW of wind power installations per annum.

The company holds a total locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW, which is distributed across thermal, hydro, and renewables, including 14.53 GW currently operational and 13.0 GW under construction. Additionally, JSW Energy has a pipeline of 4.6 GW in the renewable energy space.

The company remains on track to meet its FY2027 renewable capacity addition target of 3 GW. To date, JSW Energy has commissioned approximately one-third of this target, which equates to nearly 87% of the total greenfield capacity added throughout FY2026.

In terms of long term goals, JSW Energy aims to achieve a generation capacity of 30 GW and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, with a target date for carbon neutrality set for 2050. The company currently possesses 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity across its assets, which include 26.4 GWh from hydro pumped storage projects and 3.2 GWh from battery energy storage systems.
