SBI Funds Management Ltd has officially finalized the price band for its Initial Public Offering (IPO), signaling a major entry into the capital markets. The company’s shares have been priced in the range of Rs 545 to Rs 574 per share. The subscription process is slated to begin on July 14, with anchor investor bidding commencing one day earlier on July 13th.

The IPO represents a substantial pure offer for sale (OFS), totaling up to Rs 11,102 crore. This offering is driven by existing promoters State Bank of India and Amundi India. The allotment is expected to be finalized on July 18, followed by the listing of shares on stock exchanges set for July 21.

IPO Mechanics and Timeline Breakdown​

The offer includes stakes from both SBI and its joint venture partner, Amundi India Holding. SBI will sell up to 12.83 crore shares, representing a 6.3 percent stake in the company. Similarly, Amundi India Holding plans to offload up to 7.56 crore shares, equating to a 3.7 percent shareholding.

Together, these two entities currently hold approximately 98 percent of SBI Funds Management. The issue is managed by several reputable firms including Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, Axis Capital, and BofA Securities India. Other book-running lead managers include HSBC Securities, ICICI Securities, Jefferies India, JM Financial, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, and SBI Capital Markets.

Stellar Valuation of Promoter Stakes​

The stakes being offered by the promoters carry extraordinary valuation potential. SBI currently holds 126 crore shares, representing a 61.73 percent stake in the company. These shares were acquired at a weighted average cost of Rs 0.15 per share, valued initially around Rs 19 crore.

At the upper end of the IPO price band, the value of SBI’s holding is estimated to be approximately Rs 68,670 crore. This represents an incredible increase of nearly 3,600 times over its initial cost base. Amundi India Holding holds 74 crore shares (a 36.26 percent stake), which were acquired at a weighted average cost of Rs 4.35 per share.

Company Standing and Asset Management Leadership​

SBI Funds Management is recognized as one of the largest asset management companies in India, based on its Quarterly Average Assets Under Management (QAAUM). As of December 31, 2025, the company’s QAAUM stood at Rs 12,49,970 crore. Its mutual fund market share was reported at 15.4 percent during that period.

Including Portfolio Management Services and other advisory mandates, the total QAAUM of the organization reached an impressive Rs 29,04,026 crore. The company is also India's oldest asset management entity. It has been managing investments for SBI Mutual Fund since June 1987.

Furthermore, the company stands as India's largest passive asset manager in this segment. As of December 31, 2025, its passive QAAUM measured Rs 3,99,953 crore, securing a market share of 29.6 percent.
