A significant step for India’s shipbuilding and defence manufacturing sector was marked on August 23, 2026, when the foundation was laid for five brownfield expansion projects by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) and Yantra India Limited (YIL) in Kolkata.
