Subscription Status and Grey Market Buzz​

The IPO has garnered robust interest across all investor segments. On Day 2 alone, the issue was subscribed 7.78 times, targeting the 74.12 lakh shares available on offer. Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) showed particularly high enthusiasm, with bids reaching 9.36 times for 37.63 lakh shares.

Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) were equally bullish, subscribing at 11.11 times against the allocated 16.12 lakh shares. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) also demonstrated confidence, achieving a subscription rate of 2.22 times for their allotment of 20.36 lakh shares.

IPO Valuation and Market Expectations​

The grey market is generating substantial buzz around Behari Lal Engineering. The issue is trading at a Grey Market Premium (GMP) of Rs 80. This translates directly into a 28% premium over the upper price band, which is set at Rs 285 per share. At this rate, the estimated listing price is projected to be around Rs 365 per share.

Anchor investors who secured allotments at Rs 285 per share included Tata AIA Life Insurance Company, PineBridge Global Funds, Amicorp Capital (Mauritius) Ltd, WhiteOak Capital, and Bandhan Mutual Fund.

Future Plans: How IPO Proceeds Will Be Utilized​

Behari Lal Engineering has clear plans for the utilization of the capital raised through the fresh issue. The funds will be used to procure and install critical equipment and machinery at its manufacturing facilities, including computers and peripherals. Related civil work is also planned.

Furthermore, the company intends to invest in green technology by installing rooftop solar panels at both existing facilities. Proceeds will also cover the repayment or pre-payment of specific borrowings and general corporate purposes.

Expert Outlook on Behari Lal Engineering IPO​

Financial analysts have generally provided positive endorsements for the offering. Anand Rathi rated the issue as 'Subscribe-Long Term', stating that the IPO appears fairly priced. The firm highlighted the company's integrated manufacturing capabilities, design expertise, and stringent quality processes across critical industrial applications.

SBI Securities also recommended investors to subscribe to the IPO. They noted that Behari Lal Engineering is one of India’s largest metal rolls producers. SBI added that the fresh proceeds will support capital expenditure (capex) at current facilities as they prepare to set up a third manufacturing facility. This expansion, combined with focusing on higher-value products, is expected to boost profitability.

Company Operations and Listing Details​

Behari Lal Engineering currently operates two manufacturing facilities located in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. The company has recently commenced construction of a third facility in the Fatehgarh Sahib district. They are involved in producing metal rolls, engineering castings, alloy steel products, and forging ingots for sectors such as steel, power, and heavy engineering.

The allotment process for the Behari Lal Engineering IPO is scheduled to be finalized on August 17, 2026. The company’s shares are expected to debut on the NSE and BSE on August 19, 2026. Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd. serves as the book-running lead manager for the issue.
