The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Behari Lal Engineering has maintained robust investor interest on Day 2, successfully booking at over 3.59 times as of the morning trading session on August 13. The IPO continues to attract strong buying momentum from various investor segments as it moves toward its closing date.

The listing data reveals concentrated enthusiasm across both institutional and retail investors. The issue received substantial bidding activity, with Non-Institutional Investors (NII) subscribing at 5.04 times. Meanwhile, the dedicated retail segment contributed 4.51 times to the overall subscription figures.

The IPO’s offering size is structured across both a fresh issue and an Offer For Sale (OFS). The total IPO size stands at Rs 301.62 crore. This capital raise includes a fresh issue of shares amounting to Rs 93 crore, complemented by an OFS component valued at approximately Rs 208.62 crore.

The price band for the entire issue has been meticulously set between Rs 271 and Rs 285 per share. The IPO opened on August 12th and is scheduled to conclude its subscription period on August 14th. This signals a strong market appetite for the company’s industrial capabilities.

Grey Market Premium Reaches ₹74, Suggesting Higher Listing Potential​

The grey market has remained highly optimistic regarding the listing trajectory of Behari Lal Engineering. Current reports indicate a significant grey market premium (GMP) standing at Rs 74 as of August 13th. This GMP implies an estimated premium of 25.96 percent over the upper end of the IPO’s price band, with an implied listing price working out to around Rs 359 per share.

WhiteOak Capital Asset Management emerged as a major participant, acquiring 7.01 lakh shares for approximately Rs 20 crore across multiple schemes. Bandhan Mutual Fund also pledged considerable support, allotting 4.91 lakh shares valued at around Rs 14 crore. Singularity AMC secured 3.5 lakh shares worth about Rs 10 crore.

Funds Allocation Focuses on Modernization and Debt Reduction​

The proceeds generated from the IPO are earmarked for strategic business growth and financial stability. The company plans to dedicate Rs 63 crore from the net fresh issue proceeds towards essential operational upgrades. This capital will fund the purchase and installation of new equipment, including rooftop solar panels, at its manufacturing facilities in Salani and Turan villages in Punjab.

A portion of the funds is also set aside for debt management. An additional Rs 57 lakh has been earmarked specifically for debt repayment, ensuring a strong financial footing post-listing. The remaining net proceeds will be utilized for general corporate purposes.

Behari Lal Engineering operates as a key manufacturer within the industrial landscape. The company specializes in producing metal rolls, engineering castings, alloy steel products, and forged shafts and blocks.
