Wipro Launches Applied AI Center of Excellence for Anthropic’s Claude Models
Wipro Limited has announced the launch of its Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on integrating and scaling Anthropic’s Claude models, solidifying its commitment to accelerating enterprise AI impact through repeatable delivery methodologies. The CoE was inaugurated at Wipro's Bengaluru innovation hub and is a key component of the newly formed AI-Native Business & Platforms Unit. The new center aims to strengthen Wipro's capability to scale enterprise AI adoption using Claude models. These capabilities are integrated across the company’s Wipro Intelligence™ stack, encompassing delivery, functional, and industry platforms, enabling the embedding of AI into core business workflows across various industries.
Wipro has focused on cultivating a global pool of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) who have been trained specifically on Claude models. These engineers are tasked with operating within client environments, combining deep knowledge of business processes and technology landscapes with hands-on model expertise. This approach aims to accelerate AI integration into workflows, driving clear and measurable outcomes by adhering to a "proof over promise" strategy underpinning Wipro's AI strategy.
The Applied AI CoE for Claude is set to serve as an acceleration hub for the development of AI-native platforms and industry solutions across several sectors, including Mortgage, Healthcare, Airlines, Manufacturing, and Consumer industries. Claude models will be integrated into Wipro's platforms to facilitate co-innovation with clients in live environments. Furthermore, the CoE is driving internal transformation by scaling AI adoption within Wipro’s own Finance, HR, and Sales functions.
A significant strategic initiative tied to the Applied AI CoE involves a commitment to upskilling practitioners. Wipro has set a goal to certify 10,000 Front-Line Delivery Experts in the use of Claude over the next 18 months. This focused program is designed to establish a strong base of practitioners capable of designing, deploying, and operating AI-enabled systems within complex enterprise environments.
Srini Pallia, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Wipro Limited, stated that the CoE marks a fundamental shift in service delivery, advancing the company's strategy to be consulting-led and AI-powered. He emphasized that by combining the power of Claude models with their deep domain and enterprise expertise, Wipro is driving measurable business outcomes for clients. Pallia also noted that integrating FDEs within client settings and expanding AI integration across internal operations allows them to accelerate enterprise-scale adoption with a clear focus on business value.
This CoE represents a strategic step toward establishing Wipro as an AI-native enterprise, combining platform integration, deep model expertise, and embedded delivery mechanisms to assist clients in adopting AI at scale and unlocking its full potential.
