The Q1 FY27 results reflected a period of high growth for the company. Revenue from Operations stood at ₹ 373 Cr, marking a 70.3% increase year-on-year (Y-o-Y). Earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached ₹ 126 Cr, demonstrating a 21.4% rise Y-o-Y. Profit After Tax (PAT) was reported at ₹ 78 Cr, a 15.8% increase compared to the prior year period.

The company maintained high operational efficiency, recording a Gross Margin of 51.2% and an EBITDA Margin of 33.7%. The overall capital efficiency metrics included a Return on Equity (ROE) of 66.7% and a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of 65.7%.

Operational Expansion and Technological Leap​

Websol is progressing through several critical capacity expansion projects and strategic technological shifts, positioning the company for sustained growth in FY27 and beyond.

The company is focused on aggressively integrating high-efficiency TOPCon technology into its manufacturing processes. A key project involves upgrading a 600 MW Mono PERC cell line to 750 MW of TOPCon capacity at an existing facility. This upgrade is expected to achieve incremental capacity of 150 MW and is slated for completion in March 2027, with an anticipated cell efficiency of approximately 25%.

Furthermore, Websol has initiated a large-scale integrated greenfield project involving the expansion of its cell and module manufacturing capabilities by 4 GW. This expansion aims to enhance synergies by concentrating operations near established supply bases and skilled workforces in West Bengal.

To strengthen its domestic value chain and improve upstream control, the company is undertaking an ingot and wafer facility expansion through a partnership with Linton Crystal for equipment and technology support, contributing toward ALMM List-III compliance.

Product Diversification and Market Positioning​

The business update highlighted a move towards product diversification to expand market reach. The company announced the launch of solar kits designed for diverse applications and is actively developing flexible modules, catering to expanding addressable markets and customer bases.

From an order book perspective, demand visibility remains robust. The opening order book as of Q4 FY26 stood at ₹ 1,161 Cr, which grew to a closing order book of ₹ 1,278 Cr by the end of Q1 FY27. Product mix in the latest quarter showed solar cells generating ₹ 665 Cr in orders, compared to ₹ 613 Cr for solar modules.

Mr. Sohan Lal Agarwal, Managing Director of Websol Energy System Limited, commented on the results, stating that Q1 FY27 marks a "transformational milestone." He noted that the company has successfully evolved from a legacy entity into a high-growth, technology-driven manufacturer. He added that FY27 is strategically positioned as a year for technology-led scaling to capture the next wave of industry growth in Indian solar.
