Industry Outlook and Market Normalisation
An industry source noted that the decrease in volume month-on-month was largely attributed to the winding down of promotional activities. The source stated that June saw high volumes due to various discounts and special schemes. These offers ending contributed to the normalization seen in July's registration figures. There is nonetheless optimism for future growth as companies are expected to roll out festive season offers, signaling continued demand both domestically and internationally.Ola Electric Market Share Plummets
Ola Electric registered 11,880 units during July. This result led to a drop in its market share, which fell to 6.9 percent from the 8.3 percent recorded in June. The decline is part of a broader downward trend for the company in recent months. Ola was the fifth-largest player in the segment during July's registrations.Despite the challenges in July, it must be noted that Ola Electric has demonstrated significant recovery from early this year lows. The company more than doubled its registration count compared to February 2026, when it had recorded only 4,035 units, reaching 11,880 in July.
Other Categories and Segment Health
The "Others" category contributed 30,680 registrations, making up 17.7 percent of the total industry volume. This figure is a decrease from June's volume of 34,308 units.Despite the month-on-month decline in overall volumes, July registrations remained robustly higher than previous months for the segment. The market size far exceeded the 105,620 units recorded in May 2025 and the 111,441 units from June 2025. This consistent performance confirms that the electric two-wheeler adoption trend is firmly entrenched within the Indian market.
