Shiprocket IPO Gains 38% Premium in Grey Market; Is This Launch Set for a Massive Listing Breakout?

Shiprocket, India's leading e-commerce enablement platform, is seeing intense investor interest as it enters the third and final day of its highly anticipated IPO. With strong demand evidenced by the grey market premium (GMP), the listing appears poised for significant gains if current trends hold true. The company aims to raise Rs 1,617.59 crore through this public offering.

Subscription Surge: Shiprocket IPO Attracts Strong Investor Interest

The subscription status of the Shiprocket IPO reveals a strong appetite from both retail and institutional investors. Overall, the issue was subscribed 3.16 times against the 9.44 crore shares on offer. Retail investors demonstrated particularly high enthusiasm, subscribing the reserved portion at an impressive 9.77 times against 1.73 crore shares.

The Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) category also saw robust interest, with bids receiving 4.84 times the offered shares. Grey Market Premium Signals High Listing Potential for E-commerce Enabler

Shiprocket maintains a commanding presence in India’s burgeoning e-commerce ecosystem. The IPO is currently trading at the grey market, where the premium stands at Rs 37 per share. This GMP signifies approximately a 38% gain over the upper end of the IPO price band, which was set at Rs 97.

At the current grey market rate, Shiprocket's estimated listing price is around Rs 134 per share. If this momentum continues post-listing, it suggests a potentially lucrative venture for subscribers.

IPO Structure Details: Proceeds Target Platform Strengthening and Debt Reduction

The public issue comprises both a fresh issue of 9.13 crore equity shares and an offer for sale (OFS) of 7.55 crore shares. The company plans to deploy the net proceeds strategically across growth, technology, and operational needs. They have earmarked Rs 294 crore specifically for marketing and brand-building initiatives.

A further Rs 211 crore will be invested in enhancing technology infrastructure and capabilities. Approximately Rs 210 crore is designated for the repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings. The remaining funds are reserved for potential inorganic growth opportunities and general corporate purposes.

Brokerage Consensus Points to 'Subscribe' Amid Growth Opportunity

Market analysts have largely maintained a positive outlook, recommending investors to "Subscribe" to the IPO. Advisors cite Shiprocket’s solid positioning within the rapidly expanding Indian commerce ecosystem. This belief is supported by the company’s scalable merchant base and its ability to improve operating leverage.

Aditya Birla Money Research noted that while the core business contributed 73.4% of FY26 revenue, emerging businesses showed faster growth at a 52.6% CAGR. BP Wealth highlighted the company's asset-light model and strong market leadership as credible paths toward sustainable profitability. Geojit Equity Research recommended the IPO for medium- to long-term investors, viewing the valuation at the upper price band as a discount compared to listed peers.
