Wipro Limited has announced the successful completion of a major multi year data center migration program for METRO AG, a leading international food wholesaler. This milestone marks a critical step in METRO's enterprise cloud transformation journey, providing a resilient, scalable digital foundation aligned with its long-term growth strategy and overall digital transformation agenda.The completion of the program signifies a key achievement in METRO’s path toward a scalable, AI ready IT landscape. Through Wipro, METRO has established a future ready digital backbone capable of accelerating innovation and driving scaled AI adoption.
Wipro migrated METRO's IT operations from legacy data centers to a modern, resilient multi cloud ecosystem through a phased and risk controlled program. This engagement strengthened the company's cybersecurity capabilities, enhanced digital capabilities, improved agility and resilience, and laid the groundwork for its subsequent AI transformation journey.
The initiative has introduced intelligent automation across key operational areas at METRO. Utilizing Wipro Intelligence™, the unified suite of AI powered platforms, solutions and transformative offerings, these automation capabilities will manage service requests autonomously, thereby improving accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround times. Furthermore, Wipro applied advanced AI driven engineering tools to accelerate software development cycles, enhancing code quality and facilitating faster issue resolution, which allows METRO to identify recurring patterns and systemic issues, bolstering stability across operations.

The partnership between Wipro Limited and METRO AG began in December 2020 and was extended in June 2025.
