
Maruti Suzuki Unveils Annual Report 2025-26 Highlighting Sales Momentum and Net Zero Commitments
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has released its Annual Integrated Report 2025-26, titled 'The Next Million, New Momentum.' The report details the company's sustained growth across various segments, driven by the revival of the small car market, strengthening of the SUV portfolio, multipower train strategy, and robust export performance.Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest annual sales figure at 24.22 lakh vehicles and recorded record exports of 4.47 lakh vehicles in FY 2025-26. The company successfully achieved the 2 million sales mark for the third consecutive year, leading to optimism regarding reaching its next million-vehicle milestone sooner than anticipated.
Addressing market trends, Mr. R. C. Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, noted that GST reforms have provided new impetus to both the automobile industry and wider economic sectors. He estimates that the car industry could grow to 6.1 to 6.3 million units by FY 2030-31, stating that the small car market segment is expected to see accelerated growth compared to the previous five years.
In commitment to India's Net Zero goals, Mr. Bhargava detailed Maruti Suzuki’s focus on sustainable energy. The company plans to introduce four biogas plants in Phase 1 at a cost of Rs.561 crore. Post-feasibility studies, the board intends to invest substantial amounts into biogas production and distribution, aiming to provide zero emission fuel and reduce reliance on CNG and coal for electricity generation.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, spoke about the strategic growth trajectory, noting that the company accelerated capacity expansion plans in response to confidence in the medium-term outlook. During FY 2026-27, Maruti Suzuki added 500,000 units of manufacturing capacity. Looking ahead, Mr. Takeuchi confirmed plans to introduce seven SUVs over the next five to six years to further strengthen the SUV portfolio.
Mr. Takeuchi emphasized that the company remains committed to supporting India's national aspirations through sustainable mobility and skill creation. He stated that achieving the next million sales represents more than a volume milestone; it signifies greater access to mobility, wider adoption of cleaner technologies, deeper localization, and broader value creation for society.
