Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Approves Expansion of Production Capacity​

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. announced on March 24, 2026, that its board has approved the addition of capacity at its Khoraj Industrial Estate site. The expansion includes a first phase capacity addition of 250,000 vehicles per annum.

Currently, the company's total existing production capacity is approximately 2.4 million units per annum across its Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur facilities, with a capability to produce 2.6 million units per annum. The existing capacity is fully utilized.

The company expects to add this initial phase of 250,000 vehicle capacity by 2029, subject to market conditions. The investment required for this expansion is INR 10,189 Crores, encompassing a car manufacturing plant with a 250,000 unit annual capacity and common infrastructure. The expansion will be financed through internal accruals.

The decision to expand production capacity is driven by growth in market demand, including exports. The board meeting commenced at 12:30 p.m. and concluded at 2:15 p.m.
