Maruti Suzuki Commences Commercial Production at Second Plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana​

Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced the successful commencement of commercial production at the second plant of its manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana, effective May 18, 2026. This expansion marks a significant operational milestone for the automotive giant.

With the start of production at the second unit, the Kharkhoda facility now possesses a total capacity of 5 lakh units. This new plant boasts an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units, significantly bolstering the local manufacturing capability.

The announcement confirms that Maruti Suzuki's overall annual production capacity across its facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkhoda in Haryana, alongside Hansalpur in Gujarat, now stands at 26.5 lakh units.

The initial production at the facility began in February 2025, when the first plant commenced commercial operations, carrying a capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum.

Once fully operational, the Kharkhoda facility is set to become one of Suzuki's largest four-wheeler manufacturing locations, with a capacity to produce 1 million vehicles per annum. Maruti Suzuki had previously indicated its intention to add 5 lakh units of capacity during FY 2026-27, a planned addition that aligns with the company's current expansion activities.

Currently, the Kharkhoda facility manufactures models including the Brezza, a compact SUV, and the Vitoris, a mid-SUV. The foundation stone for the Kharkhoda facility was initially laid by the Prime Minister in August 2022.
