Lokesh Chandra Appointed as Government Nominee Director on MOIL Limited Board
MOIL Limited has appointed Shri Lokesh Chandra, an IAS officer, as a Government Nominee Director to its board. The appointment was made by the Government of India through an order dated 06.08.2026 and is set for a period up to 06.03.2027 or until further orders.The company confirmed that Shri Lokesh Chandra has no relationship with any Director or Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the company, nor is he debarred or disqualified from holding the office of Director by any authority.
Shri Lokesh Chandra holds a degree in Civil Engineering and an M. Tech in Structures from IIT Delhi. He currently serves as the Additional Chief Secretary (Mines) for the Government of Maharashtra. In addition to his governmental roles, Shri Lokesh Chandra is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
The officer has extensive experience across various public sector roles. Previously, he held the positions of Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO and Commissioner of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. His earlier service included working as a Collector for the Nagpur, Bhandara, and Gondia Districts in Maharashtra. Shri Lokesh Chandra is also the President of the Nagpur Reform 'Pranyas'.
Prior to his current roles, Shri Lokesh Chandra served in the Central Government from 2008 to 2015. During this tenure, he held positions such as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Steel and Director at the Ministry of Power.
