Kalyani Cast-Tech Ltd has achieved a significant operational milestone through its subsidiary, KMT Engineering Private Limited. The company's entity has received approval from Western Railway for the commissioning of the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Shivlakha (KEGS) Station in Ahmedabad Division, Gujarat.The approval was granted by Western Railway via Advance Rates Notification No. 72 (Goods) of 2026 dated August 06, 2026. This development strengthens Kalyani Cast-Tech Limited's cargo handling and logistics operations.
The GCT has been assigned the Alpha & Numerical Code KEGS / 08524078 and possesses a track capacity of CC+8. The terminal’s operational guidelines include the charging structure for freight, which is determined on a Non Through Distance basis up to Shivlakha station. Beyond the serving station, siding charges will be levied based on the prevailing rate of shunting charges corresponding to actual utilization of engine movement.
KMT Engineering Private Limited's GCT was opened temporary with non-interlocked connectivity for a period of six months from the date of the notification. The facility’s operations are subject to relevant instructions contained in Master Circulars issued by the Railway Board concerning GCT and its amendments.
