Jyoti Structures Limited (JSL), a listed global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, has announced a major expansion of its international power transmission portfolio through a joint venture with Hayleys Fentons Limited. The partnership is focused on constructing the Mannar -Mullikulam 220kV Double Circuit Transmission Line in Sri Lanka.

The contract involves the development of critical transmission infrastructure required to evacuate power generated by the Mullikulam Wind Power Projects into Sri Lanka's national grid. The project was awarded by the newly established National Transmission Network Service Provider (Private) Limited (NTNSP) and marks a significant addition to JSL's international transmission work.

Amit Dutta, Chief Operating Officer of Jyoti Structures Limited, stated that JSL is proud to partner with Hayleys Fentons on this cross-border project. He highlighted the company's extensive expertise in high-voltage transmission infrastructure across India and beyond, expressing confidence that the venture will deliver a resilient network supporting Sri Lanka's renewable energy ambitions and setting a benchmark for transmission excellence in the region.

Hasith Prematillake, Managing Director of Hayleys Fentons Limited, viewed the signing as a declaration of confidence in Sri Lanka's energy future. He noted that the Mannar -Mullikulam 220kV transmission line is crucial for channeling the wind energy potential of the North into the national grid. He added that this milestone contributes meaningfully to Sri Lanka's clean energy transition, especially as Hayleys Fentons advances its own 50MW wind project in Mannar concurrently.

Roshane Perera, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hayleys Solar, emphasized that the project presents a significant growth opportunity for Hayleys Fentons in the infrastructure sector. He stated that the work will enable the company's engineers to build specialized expertise in power transmission and distribution projects, positioning the firm to successfully undertake similar large-scale infrastructure developments in the future.

This venture underlines the growing momentum in regional energy infrastructure collaboration and strengthens JSL's presence in transmission markets outside of India.
