JBM Electric Vehicles and Drivn Partner to Supply 500 Luxury E-Buses in India

JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd., a leading global electric bus manufacturer, has signed an agreement with Drivn, an electric commercial vehicle leasing platform. This collaboration focuses on supplying 500 ultra-modern electric luxury buses to support the growing trend of sustainable public mobility across India.

The partnership aims to make the transition to electric vehicles more accessible by providing integrated, long-term financing and leasing solutions for fleet operators. JBM EV will deliver the 500 e-buses in phases over the next year. The initial deployment phase is targeted at luxury intercity coaches operating throughout India.

This integrated offering extends beyond vehicle delivery, encompassing essential support systems including long-term vehicle financing, charging infrastructure solutions, and maintenance services. This model enables fleet operators to transition to electric buses without requiring significant upfront capital investment while simplifying the entire vehicle lifecycle management process. Both companies also plan to explore opportunities in adjacent markets, such as school transportation, employee mobility, and airport transit services.

Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles, noted that this partnership arrives at a pivotal time for green travel in India. He stated that India witnessed a 40% growth in e-bus registrations during the first half of CY2026, with 2,944 buses registered across various states under the PM E-Bus Sewa and PM E-Drive schemes. Arya emphasized that by combining JBMEV’s technology with Drivn’s leasing platform, the partnership is designed to unlock scalable e-mobility adoption by addressing capital barriers for corporate and fleet operators.

Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Drivn, highlighted the necessity of a complete ecosystem for commercial fleet electrification. She stated that the collaboration brings together technology leadership, manufacturing excellence, and an integrated leasing model to help fleets adopt electric buses with confidence, thus building a scalable pathway for accelerating EV adoption in India.

JBM Electric Vehicles has a history of driving disruption in green public transport since introducing e-buses in 2018. The company has deployed over 3500 e-buses globally and is planning to increase this number to more than 5000 within the next year. Through its commitment, JBM electric buses have accumulated 450 million e-kms, serving 1.5 billion bus commuters worldwide.
