JBM Electric Vehicles Launches Next Generation 'GALAXY' Luxury Coach
JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a part of the global Indian conglomerate JBM Group, has launched its next generation 'GALAXY' electric luxury coach. The launch took place at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar and was conducted by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Union Minister of Transport & Highways.The new 'GALAXY' coach is designed specifically for premium inter-city travel, aiming to provide enhanced convenience and a higher earning potential for operators. It boasts the highest seating capacity within its segment combined with the greatest luggage space, setting it apart in the competitive landscape.
Coach Configurations and Features
JBM GALAXY is available in several advanced configurations to cater to diverse operational needs. One primary configuration features 22 Maharaja reclining seats alongside 20 plush sleeper berths and includes an onboard washroom. An alternative model offers a slightly higher capacity with 24 Maharaja reclining seats, also accommodating 20 plush sleeper berths but without the washroom facility. The coach will be available in three variants: seater, sleeper & seater, and pure sleeper.The design of the 'GALAXY' focuses heavily on passenger comfort, featuring European-inspired aesthetics, panoramic windows, individual AC louvers, USB charging sockets, and generous leg and head room. To ensure safety during long-distance journeys, the coach is equipped with an ADAS enabled architecture, EBS and ABS, hill-hold technology, live surveillance cameras, and emergency exits.
Mechanically, the vehicle incorporates a kneeling and height adjustment feature for easier boarding, along with electronically controlled air suspension. Powering the luxury experience are high efficiency modular battery packs that support fast charging and regenerative braking, all aimed at delivering a seamless long distance travel experience to passengers.
Market Leadership and Scale
JBM EV continues to lead the Indian electric luxury coach segment, having demonstrated operations of over 900 kms per day with the 'GALAXY' platform.In terms of overall operational scale, JBM EV has deployed more than 3,300 electric buses across 17 states and 12 major airports in India. The company maintains a robust order book exceeding 10,000 electric buses. Furthermore, JBM Electric Vehicles operates the world's largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside of China in the Delhi-NCR region, which has an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.
Under its 3 billion e km promise, JBM electric buses have already clocked 450 million e kms and have served over 1.5 billion bus commuters globally.
