In a significant market development, Upstox has initiated preliminary discussions with investment banks regarding a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company is targeting to raise between $350 million and $400 million, which translates to Rs 3,351 crore to Rs 3,829 crore.According to reports, the prospective IPO is likely structured as a combination of fresh share issuance and an offer-for-sale by existing investors. Upstox has previously raised approximately $220 million across six funding rounds from prominent investors including Tiger Global, Kalaari Capital, Stride Ventures, and the late Ratan Tata. The company had achieved unicorn status in 2021 following a valuation of $3.5 billion.

The journey of Upstox began under different roots. It was initially launched as RKSV Securities, offering low-cost broking and technology-driven services.
