The Government of India confirmed on Saturday that all Indian seafarers operating across the West Asia and Gulf region are safe. Officials stated that no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels was reported in the past 24 hours.The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways reported that necessary measures are in place to safeguard both Indian vessels and their seafarers in the region. DG Shipping has facilitated the safe repatriation of over 2,487 Indian seafarers to date. This figure includes 34 seafarers repatriated within the last 24 hours from various locations across the Gulf region.

Authorities confirmed that port operations across India remain normal, with no congestion reported anywhere. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways continues to coordinate closely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Missions, and maritime stakeholders.This continuous effort is focused on ensuring uninterrupted maritime operations and the overall welfare of the seafaring community. Their focus centers on ensuring the safety, security, and general welfare of the Indian community.In a specific effort to move citizens from Iran, the Embassy of India in Tehran reported facilitating the movement of 2,373 Indian nationals. These individuals were moved from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel back to India. The group included 1,041 Indian students and 657 Indian fishermen.
MEA is also issuing regular updated advisories. This information covers local government guidelines, current flight and travel situations, and critical consular services. Indian Missions are actively connecting with various associations, professional groups, and Indian companies across the region.
Logistics and Travel Connectivity Update
Air travel connecting India to the West Asia region continues to operate from multiple locations. In the UAE, airlines continue to run limited non-scheduled commercial flights based on operational and safety considerations. Around 110 flights were anticipated today between the UAE and India.Flights are also operational from various airports across Saudi Arabia and Oman, connecting to destinations in India. Since February 28, approximately 10,68,000 passengers have traveled from the West Asia region to India.
