Dhaksha Unmanned Systems Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Kancheepuram to Boost Indigenous Drone Capabilities

Dhaksha Unmanned Systems Private Limited, a subsidiary of Coromandel International Limited, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the Aymicheri region of Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. The event, which took place on August 24, 2026, was attended by Mr. Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman of Coromandel International Limited. This expansion marks a significant milestone in strengthening India's indigenous drone manufacturing capabilities across the agriculture, defence, and enterprise sectors.

The new facility is designed to function as a hub for the drone value chain, facilitating collaboration among technology partners. This integration aims to accelerate the development of a complete, integrated drone manufacturing ecosystem.

Advancing Drone Technology and Product Launches

Dhaksha announced the launch of two new agricultural drone models at the facility: the DH Agrigator E10 Prime and the DH Agrigator E10 Eco.

The E10 Prime was developed with indigenous components and aligns with the Namo Drone Didi programme, supporting the growth of the domestic drone ecosystem. Meanwhile, the E10 Eco was introduced as an affordable solution, intended to expand access to drone-based farming services for small and marginal farmers and rural entrepreneurs.

Beyond agriculture, the new plant will support Dhaksha’s defence portfolio, which includes surveillance and logistics applications. A dedicated production line for defence applications will be established to enhance the company’s execution capabilities and advance indigenization efforts by building greater control over critical technologies.

Commitment to Indigenous Solutions

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. S. Sankarasubramanian, who serves as Director at Dhaksha Unmanned Systems Private Limited and Managing Director & CEO of Coromandel International Limited, stated that harnessing advanced technologies is key to India's journey toward a resilient and productive economy.

He emphasized that UAVs hold significant potential in agriculture, defence, and enterprise applications. He added that the new facility integrates the company’s R&D and operational capabilities, reflecting confidence in the long-term potential of the rapidly evolving UAV sector. Mr. Sankarasubramanian noted that in agriculture, product development is guided by field-level feedback, while defence efforts are focused on advancing indigenization and building technology partnerships.

The expansion reinforces Dhaksha’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and enhancing the ability to deliver indigenous solutions in the emerging sector.
