Vector Technics Emerges as India's Largest Fully Integrated Drone Propulsion Manufacturer, Reaching 300,000 Unit Capacity​

Vector Technics Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zen Technologies Limited, has reached a major milestone in advancing indigenous defense technology. The deep-tech manufacturer announced that its Shamshabad facility now possesses the capacity to produce 300,000 propulsion units annually. Crucially, Vector Technics is confirmed as the only Indian company capable of designing and building every component required for a drone's propulsion stack—covering both electric and internal combustion systems.

This achievement signifies the closure of a strategic dependency previously held by India within its defense manufacturing sector. While industry reliance on Chinese-origin channels accounted for up to 80% of motors and controllers in previous platforms, Vector Technics ensures that its products utilize no Chinese parts and feature no imported firmware.

The company's integrated approach means that no competitor replicates the full set of components developed by Vector. Unlike many indigenous players who rely on assembling various imported parts or stopping at electric motor production, Vector conducts its own motor winding, writes proprietary firmware, lays out power electronics, machines internal components, designs and manufactures carbon-fibre reinforced propellers, and builds its own UAV engines and starter-generators.

"The IP lives in Hyderabad in this facility, in the engineers who chose to solve the problem here instead of importing the answer," Pakalapati said. "We don't promise indigenous propulsion. We prove it on three accredited benchmarks before every unit ships. With scalable infrastructure, we are not catching up; we are setting the standard."
