Zen Technologies Unveils India's First High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System

On July 26, 2026, Zen Technologies Limited unveiled its High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System (MPADS). The launch was conducted on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas and addresses the critical challenge of growing drone usage across high-altitude battlefields. This indigenous, lightweight counter-UAS solution is designed to protect military personnel operating in mountainous and remote terrains.

The MPADS is a compact, mission ready system engineered for rapid deployment in difficult terrain where traditional vehicle mounted systems are impractical. It integrates advanced RF detection, intelligent data fusion, and omni directional jamming into one portable unit. The system's design ensures mobility, allowing it to be carried by soldiers, pack animals, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), or unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).

Zen Technologies has provided a scalable and rapidly deployable capability aimed at strengthening India's indigenous defense ecosystem.

System Capabilities and Technology

The High-Altitude Man-Portable Anti-Drone System possesses several key capabilities:

  • Detection Range: It can detect drones up to 5 km through continuous wideband RF scanning across the 400 MHz to 6 GHz spectrum.
  • Jamming: The system offers omni directional jamming coverage up to 3 km, which is capable of simultaneously disrupting drone command links and GNSS signals.
  • Advanced Functionality: It features multi-target and swarm detection capabilities, allowing forces to counter coordinated aerial attacks.
  • Operation: The solution supports 24x7 operation in all weather conditions using a state of the art indigenous architecture.

At the core of the MPADS is Zen's RF Based Drone Detector (RFDD). This component utilizes advanced Correlative Interferometry and Digital Beamforming techniques to accurately determine the bearing of hostile drones.

This detector is integrated with a Data Fusion & Command Centre (DFCC), which consolidates all sensor inputs into a single tactical picture. Operators using the system can monitor threat zones, classify aerial threats, analyze spectrum activity, and make quick engagement decisions.

With increasing drone presence in contested border areas and high altitude regions, the portable counter drone capabilities offered by Zen Technologies are vital for frontline force protection.
