Bajaj Electricals Faces Upholding of Tax Demand After Appellate Ruling

Bajaj Electricals Limited has confirmed that the appellate authority upheld a previous tax assessment order concerning a demand raised for the Financial Year 2020-21.

The original assessment raised an aggregate demand due to alleged liability under the Reverse Charge Mechanism and discrepancies in input tax credit claimed.

The company subsequently received an appeal order on May 8, 2026, from the Appellate Authority & Additional Commissioner of Revenue, State Tax, Large Taxpayer Unit, West Bengal. The ruling stated that the Appellate Authority upheld the original Assessment Order and the associated demands.

The financial details of the upheld order are as follows:

Following the appellate ruling, the management of Bajaj Electricals Limited is currently evaluating appropriate legal remedies available under law. The company stated that if the financial impact of the appellate order materializes, it would be limited to the full extent of the demand and penalty levied. The company affirmed that the order has no impact on its operational, financial, or other core activities.
