CARE Ratings Upgrades Sammaan Capital Ltd Ratings Following IHC Strategic Investment​

Sammaan Capital Ltd. received a significant credit rating upgrade from CARE Ratings, following strategic investments and the change in promoter status. The rating action highlights the strengthening financial profile of the company.

CARE Ratings upgraded the credit rating assigned to Sammaan Capital Limited's long-term debt programme by two notches to 'CARE AA+; Stable'. In addition, the rating assigned to the Company's perpetual debt instruments was also upgraded to 'CARE AA/Stable' from 'CARE A+'.

The ratings action also reaffirmed the rating for the Commercial Paper and Short-Term Non-Convertible Debentures at 'CARE A1+'.

CARE Ratings noted several factors contributing to the upgrade, including the strategic importance of Sammaan Capital Ltd. (SCL) in International Holding Company's (IHC) roadmap for its financial services business in India. The rating agency cited IHC's commitment to providing financial, strategic, and operational support to SCL.

Furthermore, CARE Ratings took into account the Group's established track record in the mortgage finance business, the experienced Board and management team, a comfortable capital structure supported by equity infusions over the years, and adequate liquidity buffers.

The Company recently saw International Holding Company (IHC), through its owned and controlled company, Avenir Investment RSC Ltd, become the promoter following the preferential issue and acquisition of a controlling stake.

This rating upgrade further reflects the positive impact of the strategic investment by IHC and the consequent strengthening of Sammaan Capital Ltd.'s capital position, financial profile, and overall credit fundamentals. Previously, CRISIL had upgraded the Company's rating to AA+/Stable on April 9, 2026, signifying the continued upward rating trajectory for the company.
