Agastya Green Energy Launches ₹7,800 Crore Expansion into Integrated 12GW Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh – Agastya Green Energy Limited, part of the Anubhav Agarwal Group, has announced a major expansion initiative with a project cost of approximately ₹7,800 crore. The investment aims to establish integrated ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity at the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This venture is designed to complement the company’s existing capabilities in solar cell and module manufacturing.

The expanded operations will introduce 12 GW of capacity each for integrated ingot and wafer production. This strategic move significantly strengthens Agastya Energy’s domestic manufacturing base, aiming to increase local value addition within India's rapidly growing solar manufacturing sector. The project is also expected to create more than 3,500 employment opportunities, furthering the company's goal of establishing a globally competitive, integrated solar photovoltaic manufacturing platform in India.

Agastya Energy plans to integrate all stages of PV production at this facility, including ingot, wafer, cell, and module manufacturing. This end-to-end approach facilitates greater efficiency and domestic value addition across both upstream and downstream segments of the photovoltaic value chain.

Mr. Piyush Bichhoriya, Director of Agastya Energy, stated that the expansion into Ingot and Wafer manufacturing forms a critical upstream pillar of the company's integrated solar manufacturing strategy. He noted that this move will deepen their presence across the solar ecosystem, drive greater domestic value addition, and create synergies among manufacturing, IPP (Independent Power Producer), and EPC operations.

Bernhard Rack, CEO of Agastya Energy, highlighted the global shift toward clean energy, stating that this expansion is set to strengthen the company’s capabilities across ingots, wafers, cells, and modules. He added that the project represents an important step towards positioning India as a key hub for clean energy manufacturing on a global scale.

The establishment of the integrated facility aligns with national priorities related to "Make in India" and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Agastya Energy Group is committed to building scalable, technology-led solutions, aiming to enhance supply chain resilience and support India's renewable energy ecosystem through deeper vertical integration across the solar value chain.

Agastya Energy Group operates within the renewable energy sector, offering capabilities spanning solar module and cell manufacturing, EPC, IPP, and operations and maintenance (O&M). The company is dedicated to strengthening domestic renewable energy capacities in India.
