The investment manager of Tata Mutual Fund confirmed that Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Prathit Bhobe has stepped down from his role. Prathit Bhobe Steps Down from TAMPL Leadership​

The announcement detailed that Prathit Bhobe concluded his tenure as CEO and Managing Director effective July 7, 2026. The leadership exit was confirmed by the AMC, aligning with prior reports regarding a senior executive's resignation. Furthermore, it has been noted that Mr. Bhobe is no longer representing Tata Mutual Fund at the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).

Anand Vardarajan Named New CEO and MD​

Tata Asset Management appointed Anand Vardarajan as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Mr. Vardarajan will officially assume the role beginning July 10, 2026. He has been part of TAMPL’s leadership team since 2018, where he held the position of Chief Business Officer.

Mr. Vardarajan brings over 24 years of extensive experience across banking, wealth management, and financial services sectors. His prior executive roles included senior positions at ICICI Bank and Citibank, providing him with deep industry insight.

Hemant Kumar Appointed Chief Business Officer​

As part of the comprehensive leadership reshuffle, Hemant Kumar has been designated as the new Chief Business Officer. Mr. Kumar will oversee critical aspects of the company's operations, including retail and institutional businesses, products, alliances, digital functions, and data management.

He joins TAMPL with more than 21 years of experience in banking and financial services. Before his elevation to CBO, he served as the Chief Distribution and Digital Officer at Tata Asset Management, where he drove the company's distribution and digital growth initiatives.

Chairman Highlights Strength of Internal Succession Planning​

Commenting on these organizational changes, Chairman Rajiv Sabharwal affirmed that the appointments clearly reflect the strength of Tata Asset Management’s internal talent bench. He stated that the moves reinforce the company’s commitment to developing its own internal talent base.

Mr. Sabharwal praised Mr. Vardarajan’s leadership experience and deep understanding of the business landscape. He also highlighted Hemant Kumar’s proven track record in driving crucial distribution and business growth areas.
