GAIL Increases Stake in Konkan LNG Ltd as Equity Share Capital is Reduced
GAIL (India) Limited reported a significant change in its stake in Konkan LNG Limited (KLL) after the implementation of an order from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The reduction of equity share capital in KLL has led to GAIL's shareholding increasing to 100% of the equity share capital of the company.The process was completed following the remittance of consideration by Konkan LNG Limited to its shareholders on July 6, 2026. On the same date, KLL also remitted the consideration to MSEB Holding Company Limited (MSEB).
According to information provided by KLL, upon the payment of consideration to the respective shareholders, a total of 14,81,10,440 equity shares of ₹10 each were cancelled and extinguished. These shares included stakes held by GAIL and MSEB in KLL.
The cancellation resulted in a complete reduction of MSEB's holding in KLL to Nil, while GAIL’s shareholding surged, assuming full control of the equity capital.
