Tankup Engineers Acquires 100% Partnership Interest in Hitech Hydraulics to Bolster Strategic Defence and Space Capabilities

Tankup Engineers Limited has announced the acquisition of the partnership interest in M/s Hitech Hydraulics, a specialized precision engineering firm, to significantly expand its foothold in India's strategic space and missile programmes. The acquisition is set to make Hitech Hydraulics a wholly owned entity of Tankup Engineers Limited.

The definitive agreement for the acquisition was executed on September 09, 2026, between Tankup Engineers Limited, Mr. Anne Srinivasa Rao, Mrs. Anne Madhavi Latha, and Hitech Hydraulics. Hitech Hydraulics, which operates in Hyderabad, is a precision engineering and hydraulic and pneumatic systems manufacturer qualified for India's strategic defence and space programmes.

Tankup's move aims to integrate high-value precision engineering capabilities—including clean room integration and structural test rig engineering—into its existing portfolio. These capabilities are critical and cannot be easily replicated by assembly-led manufacturing lines.

The target entity, M/s Hitech Hydraulics, established in 1996, operates across three specialized divisions: Propellant Systems, Ground Systems, and Heavy Engineering. The company is qualified under AS9100 quality management standards.

Strategic Value and Capabilities

The acquisition allows Tankup to qualify through its wholly owned entity into critical supply chains within India's strategic defence and space programmes. Hitech's expertise covers several key areas, including:

  • Missile and Rocket Systems: Expertise in Agni A1 and A2, BRAHMOS, Akash, and K-5 static launcher programmes.
  • Aerospace and Defence: Capabilities supporting ISRO and DRDO facilities, specifically SDSC SHAR, MCF, and MSMC.
  • Core Products: The company designs and manufactures missile ground systems, integrated fuel and oxidiser transfer systems, and propellant storage and transfer systems.
  • Testing and Infrastructure: Hitech possesses a 1,000 T CRM horizontal structural test facility and pneumatic test consoles.

Gaurav Lath, Managing Director of Tankup Engineers Limited, stated that the acquisition represents a shift for Tankup, "from building platforms that carry fuel to building the ground systems that launch missiles and rockets." He added that the transaction provides a position in strategic programmes that cannot be quickly established from outside.

Business Overview and Financials

The acquisition is intended to strengthen Tankup's defence manufacturing footprint and enable cross-selling across its defence, aerospace, and enterprise customer relationships. The business of Hitech Hydraulics is within the broad line of business of the listed company.
