
Bengaluru, January 14, 2026 – Ola Electric Mobility Limited today announced a major expansion of its in-house 4680 Bharat Cell platform, positioning it as a broader new energy ecosystem that extends beyond electric mobility into residential storage and advanced industrial applications.
The company unveiled the expansion at Prarambh 2026, opening up the 4680 Bharat Cell and its modular 1.5kWh battery packs for direct purchase by businesses and startups. The move allows applications across electric vehicles, drones, humanoids and portable medical equipment, enabling faster innovation using domestically designed and manufactured energy storage solutions.
Entry Into Residential Energy Storage
As part of the platform expansion, Ola Electric has opened bookings for Ola Shakti, its residential Battery Energy Storage System designed and manufactured in India using the 4680 Bharat Cell.Ola Shakti is available in two configurations:
- 3kW / 5.2kWh priced at ₹1,49,999, with deliveries scheduled from mid-February 2026
- 6kW / 9.1kWh priced at ₹2,49,999, with deliveries beginning towards the end of January 2026
Electric Two-Wheeler Deliveries Scale Up
Alongside the energy storage rollout, Ola Electric confirmed the commencement of deliveries for its flagship Roadster X+ (9.1kWh) motorcycle powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell. The model offers a certified range of up to 500 km on a single charge, supported by an 11kW motor and a top speed of 125 kmph. The motorcycle is priced at ₹1,89,999 and accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.7 seconds.The company has also scaled up pan-India deliveries of the S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) electric scooter. Priced at ₹1,90,338, the model features a 13kW motor, an IDC-certified range of up to 320 km and a top speed of 130 kmph, with 0 to 40 kmph acceleration in 2.1 seconds.
One Cell, One Platform Strategy
Ola Electric said the 4680 Bharat Cell now forms the backbone of its mobility and energy portfolio, following a unified approach across two-wheelers, residential storage and emerging technology applications. The company highlighted that the common cell architecture enables scalability across products while supporting India-focused design and manufacturing.Management noted that opening the platform to external businesses and startups is aimed at accelerating adoption of indigenous energy technologies while creating a shared foundation for next-generation electric and energy-driven products.
