Ola Electric has dramatically altered the Indian electric mobility landscape with the launch of its new S1 X+ 5.2 kWh scooter. The vehicle, which is powered by the company's indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell, has been introduced at an introductory price of ₹1,29,999. This move signals a major acceleration in making high-performance EV technology accessible to the mass Indian consumer base.

The company stated that launching this model brings its advanced in-house cell technology to a far wider market segment. The introductory pricing is valid until April 15, establishing the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh as a significant milestone in Ola Electric's vision for scaling EV adoption.

Powering the Future: Strategic Use of Indigenous Technology

The core strength of the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh lies in its power source: the 4680 Bharat Cell. An Ola Electric spokesperson confirmed that this platform, initially built for advanced models, is now scaling down to power a scooter designed for broad accessibility.

This strategy underscores the company's focus on vertical integration. Ola Electric manages everything from cell development and battery pack engineering to the final vehicle manufacturing process. This integrated approach allows the company to innovate deeply and scale breakthrough technology rapidly across multiple segments.

Unmatched Performance and Range for Indian Roads

The new S1 X+ 5.2 kWh package blends everyday practicality with high performance. It is equipped with an 11 kW mid-drive motor that includes an integrated MCU. This setup delivers a substantial 320 km IDC range and a top speed of 125 km/h.

Safety and control are enhanced through the inclusion of Brake-by-Wire technology and front disc brakes. According to the company, the launch demonstrates how performance, range, and scale have finally converged in one comprehensive package.

Diversifying the Electric Portfolio

Ola Electric currently maintains a robust and expanding product lineup. The company's premium scooter segment includes configurations like the S1 Pro+ in 5.2kWh and 4kWh, and the S1 Pro in 4kWh and 3kWh.

For the mass market, the Gen 3 S1 X+ (4kWh) is now available, along with the Gen 3 S1 X in 2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh configurations. The company's motorcycle offerings are also extensive, featuring the Roadster X+ in 4.5kWh and 9.1kWh configurations. The Roadster X comes available in 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh configurations.
