
India Post Launches 24 and 48-Hour Delivery Services for Time-Sensitive Shipments
Premium Speed Post Services Introduced in Six Major Cities
New Delhi, March 17: The Department of Posts on Tuesday introduced three premium delivery services designed to cater to urgent and time-sensitive shipments, offering assured delivery within 24 and 48 hours.The newly launched services include 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel, and 48 Speed Post. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia formally unveiled the offerings, marking a significant step in the evolution of India Post’s service portfolio.
In the initial phase, these services will be available across six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The department will rely on dedicated processing systems and priority air transportation to ensure adherence to the promised delivery timelines.
Focus on E-Commerce Growth and Logistics Efficiency
Highlighting the broader market opportunity, Scindia stated that the e-commerce sector in India is projected to expand to Rs 30 lakh crore by 2030, compared to its current size of Rs 11 lakh crore. The launch of these premium services aligns with the growing demand for faster and more reliable logistics solutions in the sector.Enhanced Features for Businesses and Customers
According to an official statement, the new services will include OTP-based delivery verification and end-to-end tracking capabilities. Customers will also receive real-time SMS alerts to stay updated on shipment status.For business users, India Post is offering additional सुविधाएं such as Book Now, Pay Later, centralized billing, and API integration. Bulk shipment customers will benefit from free pickup services, while a money-back guarantee will be applicable in cases of delayed delivery.
The introduction of these features is aimed at strengthening India Post’s position in the competitive logistics and e-commerce delivery ecosystem.
