Molbio Diagnostics, a burgeoning player in India's medical diagnostics space, has officially filed its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP). Molbio Diagnostics is seeking capital through a mixed offering structure. The company intends to raise ₹200 crore via a fresh issue of shares. Additionally, existing shareholders will participate by selling 91.66 lakh shares through an Offer-for-Sale (OFS).The OFS includes stakes held by the promoters Exxora Trading and Dr Chandrasekhar Bhaskaran Nair. The investor base offering shares also includes the India Business Excellence Fund. This structure indicates both company growth funding and strategic capital release from existing stakeholders.
Molbio Diagnostics holds a 46.65 percent stake in the company. The remaining 53.35 percent is collectively held by investors, which prominently feature Temasek Holdings subsidiary V Sciences Investments and Motilal Oswal Group's India Business Excellence Fund.

As a point-of-care (POC) diagnostics specialist, Molbio Diagnostics boasts substantial technological capabilities. The company developed the Truenat platform, which is patented in over 100 countries. This platform is designed for diagnosing various infectious and non-communicable diseases.The Truenat technology covers critical health concerns including Tuberculosis (TB), COVID-19, Hepatitis B and C, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Its design as a POC PCR platform allows it to operate in resource-limited settings. This capability facilitates decentralized diagnosis within an hour, making healthcare more accessible.
Beyond the Truenat platform, Molbio Diagnostics extends its reach through its subsidiaries and partnerships. It provides essential devices for radiology, digital pathology, and breast health screening via Prognosys and OptraScan, alongside its collaboration partner, UE Lifesciences.
Strategic Utilization of Fresh Issue Proceeds
The company has clearly outlined the planned usage of the net fresh issue proceeds. A significant allocation, ₹105.5 crore, is dedicated to establishing an advanced research and development facility. This center of excellence will be operated by Bigtec, a wholly owned subsidiary.Further capital allocation includes substantial investments in manufacturing infrastructure. ₹72.2 crore of the net fresh issue proceeds are slated for the purchase of plant, machinery, and other equipment. These assets will be deployed across Goa Unit I, Goa Unit II, and the Visakhapatnam Unit.

Molbio Diagnostics has demonstrated consistent financial strength in recent fiscal years. For the year ending March 2026, the company reported a strong increase of 14.8 percent in profit, reaching ₹166.6 crore. Revenue saw an equally impressive rise of 41.7 percent, totaling ₹1,445.7 crore compared to the preceding year.The successful transition into public markets is supported by seasoned financial stewardship. Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, IIFL Capital Services, and Jefferies India have been appointed as the book-running lead managers for the Molbio Diagnostics IPO.
