MMP Industries Reports Q1FY27 Results, Showing Revenue Growth and Strengthening Backward Integration in Aluminium Segments

MMP Industries Limited reported its unaudited financial results for the first quarter of FY27 (Q1FY27), demonstrating revenue growth driven by strong performance in the Aluminium Powders and Foils businesses. The company continued to focus on strengthening vertical integration, expanding product offerings across various segments, and increasing capacity utilization despite market volatility and operational challenges.

Financial Highlights and Performance

The consolidated financial results for Q1FY27 showed a rise in Revenue From Operations compared to the previous year (YoY). Gross Profit increased significantly, supported by improved operations and product mix.

The following table summarizes the key financial metrics across FY26 and Q1FY27:

Consolidated financial performance across the years showed a CAGR of 29% for Revenue From Operations, rising from 448.3 Rs Cr in FY22 to 824.0 Rs Cr in FY26. The company's revenue performance improved despite facing operational disruption and initial losses incurred by newly incorporated subsidiaries during their ramp-up phase.

Business Updates and Segment Performance

The growth momentum was noted across several segments, including Aluminium Powders, Aluminium Foil, and Polymer Insulators, although the Conductors/Cables segment faced headwinds due to slower execution of government infrastructure projects and elevated aluminium prices.

Aluminium Powder:
The Aluminium Powder segment showed strong performance, supported by healthy domestic demand, improved export realisations, and higher capacity utilization. Export enquiries remain robust from West and Central Asia, Europe, and the United States. Exports in this segment are expected to grow by 40-50% in FY27. Key end use applications include explosives, AAC blocks, and pesticides.

Aluminium Foil:
The Aluminium Foil business performed strongly due to improved realisations, higher capacity utilization, and operational efficiencies. The company is focused on value addition through the Printed Foil segment. Lidding Foil trial production is expected by the end of Q2/beginning of Q3FY27, with commercial launch targeted for Q3FY27.

Conductors and Cables:
Performance in this area was impacted by several factors, including delayed payments by State Utilities affecting private EPC contractors and elevated aluminium prices. The company is advancing the 18,000 MTPA Aluminium Wire Rod facility construction to strengthen backward integration across Conductors, ABC, and LT Cable businesses.

Polymer Insulators:
The Polymer Insulator business, handled through a wholly owned subsidiary, has commenced commercial supplies to Nepal. Vendor registrations are progressing with leading utilities and transmission companies. A meaningful sales ramp-up is expected from Q3/Q4FY27 onwards, supported by a growing margin potential.

Strategic Developments and Future Capex

MMP Industries Limited continues to invest in strategic developments to enhance product reliability, supply chain efficiency, and manufacturing integration. The company is strengthening its backward integration through the in house development of FRP rods and planned silicone rubber manufacturing.

Capacity Expansion:
  • 1,200 MTPA LT cable manufacturing capacity was installed in July 2026 at the Bhandara facility, with trial production commencing.
  • An 18,000 MTPA Aluminium Wire Rod facility is under construction in Umred, Dist. Nagpur.

Future Investment Plans:
The company has planned near-term and medium-term capital expenditure (Capex):
  • A Rs 30 Cr renewable energy project is planned for commissioning by H1FY27.
  • A Rs 20-25 Cr wire rod facility is planned with commissioning targeted by H2FY27.
  • Medium-term plans include an allocation of Rs 85-90 Cr for LT Cables over the next two to three years in two phases.

Strategic Partnerships and Manufacturing Scope

The company benefits from strategic partnerships, including Star Circlips & Engineering Limited, a preferred supplier for major automotive OEMs such as Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. Additionally, MMPIL holds a joint venture with Toyo Aluminium K.K. (Japan), focused on manufacturing high-quality aluminium paste for the automotive and paint industries.

The company maintains multiple state of the art facilities across Nagpur and Bhandara, focusing on Aluminum Powders, Foils, and Conductors/Cables, supported by certifications including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015.
