Ministry of Power Appoints Official Nominee Director to SJVN Limited Board
SJVN Limited has welcomed Shri Diwakar Nath Misra, an Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Power, Government of India, as a Part-time Official Director and Government of India Nominee on its Board of Directors.The appointment was formalized by the Ministry of Power via its Order No. 15-22/1/2018-HYDEL-II(MoP) dated May 14, 2026. With this appointment, Shri Diwakar Nath Misra (DIN: 07464700) assumes the role, effective immediately.

Director's Profile and Experience
Shri Diwakar Nath Misra, a 2000 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, currently serves as the Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Power, Government of India. His career spans over two decades, providing extensive administrative experience across multiple key sectors, including power, finance, commerce, petroleum and natural gas, rural development, urban development, and land revenue management.Shri Misra’s career trajectory showcases significant roles at both the state and central government levels.
During his early career in Assam, he served in various field and district administration roles. These positions included SDO (Civil), Rangia; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup; and Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji and Golaghat districts. During this time, he developed deep expertise in district governance and land revenue management.
He later held senior positions within the Assam Government, serving as Member, Board of Revenue, Principal Secretary, North C Hills (Haflong), and Additional Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development Department.
At the Government of India level, Shri Misra has accumulated experience in policy formulation and governance. His important assignments include:
- Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat
- Private Secretary in the Ministry of Defence
- Director in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)
- Director and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas
