Shares of Manipal Health Enterprises are set to debut on the BSE and NSE today, August 5, marking the arrival of one of India’s major healthcare providers. The listing is highly anticipated by investors keen on cues regarding the country's booming healthcare sector.

The initial public offering (IPO) concluded subscription following a two-day run, attracting significant interest across various investor segments. The issue was priced within the Rs 560 to Rs 590 per share band. Kotak Mahindra Capital managed the IPO as the book-running lead manager.

IPO Subscription Metrics and Public Interest​

The Manipal Health Enterprises IPO garnered an overall subscription of 4.92 times, signaling strong demand from institutional buyers. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) segment showed particular interest, being subscribed at 8.25 times.

Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) showed moderate interest in the issue, with their segment subscribing at 1.02 times. Meanwhile, Retail Individual Investor (RII) portions were strongly backed, reaching a subscription of 93%.

Issue Size and Financial Structure​

The public offering structure included both a fresh issue and an Offer for Sale (OFS). The company offered 13.56 crore equity shares worth Rs 8,000 crore through the fresh issue. Additionally, there was an OFS comprising 2.16 crore shares valued at Rs 1,275.22 crore.

The total issue size for Manipal Health Enterprises stands at Rs 9,275.22 crore. KFin Technologies served as the registrar for this major listing event.

Grey Market Premium Points Towards Flat Debut​

Ahead of its official market debut, the shares are currently tracking a grey market premium (GMP) of Rs 3, which translates to approximately 1% over the upper issue price band. Based on this grey market metric, the stock is projected to list at around Rs 593 per share.

While the GMP offers an unofficial snapshot of pre-listing sentiment, investors are advised that it remains unregulated. They must evaluate factors such as the company's fundamentals and industry outlook before making any investment decisions.

Manipal Health Enterprises: A Profile in Healthcare Scale​

Established in 2010, Manipal Health Enterprises has developed into a leading healthcare provider across India. The company manages a broad network of clinics and multi-specialty hospitals.

As of March 31, 2026, the organization operated 49 hospitals, each possessing 13,037 licensed beds. Furthermore, it operates 21 clinics nationwide. Manipal Health Enterprises employs over 24,000 personnel, including more than 11,000 nurses and 6,300 paramedics.

The enterprise provides advanced tertiary and quaternary healthcare services in critical fields like oncology, cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, organ transplantation, and preventive care.

Strategic Use of IPO Proceeds for Balance Sheet Strengthening​

A significant portion of the fresh issue proceeds is earmarked by Manipal Health Enterprises to fundamentally strengthen its balance sheet. The company has designated Rs 5,378 crore specifically for debt repayment, a move designed to improve its financial standing and lower borrowing costs.

Additionally, the funds will be utilized to acquire a minority stake in its step-down subsidiary, Sahyadri Hospitals, amounting to Rs 574 crore. The remaining proceeds are allocated for general corporate purposes and future business expansion initiatives.
