Molbio Diagnostics, a prominent Goa-based diagnostics company, has finalized the price band for its maiden public issue. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) is set to open on August 10 and close on August 12, 2026. This listing offers investors a chance to participate in the growth story of a company valued at approximately ₹9,300 crore.

IPO Details and Financial Structure​

The offering is designed to raise a total of ₹939.7 crore. This amount comprises a fresh issue of equity shares worth ₹200 crore and an Offer-For-Sale (OFS) component aggregating ₹739.7 crore. The company's structure includes various stakeholders participating in the sale.

Promoters Exxora Trading and Dr Chandrasekhar Bhaskaran Nair are part of the selling shareholders. Additionally, Motilal Oswal's India Business Excellence Fund and other existing shareholders will participate in the OFS segment of the IPO.

Investment Parameters and Retail Investor Window​

The offering adheres to specific investment parameters for prospective bidders. Investors can bid for a minimum of 18 equity shares, with subsequent bids allowed in multiples of 18 shares. The minimum retail investment is set at ₹14,526, while the maximum possible investment ranges up to ₹1,88,838 per investor.

The anchor book opening is scheduled for August 7, serving as a preliminary event before the public sale. Molbio Diagnostics aims to finalize the basis of allotment by August 13. The company's listing on the stock exchanges is slated for August 17.

Strategic Utilisation of IPO Proceeds​

A significant portion of the net proceeds from the fresh issue will be strategically deployed for expansion and research. Molbio Diagnostics has dedicated ₹105.5 crore to establishing a robust infrastructure for a Centre of Excellence and its research and development facility.

Further, an allocation of ₹72.2 crore is earmarked for the purchase of necessary plant, machinery, and equipment. This investment will cover operations across Goa Unit I, Goa Unit II, and the Visakhapatnam Unit. The remaining funds collected through the IPO will be utilized for general corporate purposes.

Technological Edge and Company Profile​

Molbio Diagnostics stands out with its specialization in molecular testing for roughly 30 diseases. These critical areas include tuberculosis, COVID-19, hepatitis B and C, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and human papillomavirus (HPV). The company also provides devices supporting digital pathology, radiology, and breast health screening.

A key innovation from the firm is the Truenat platform. This patented point-of-care (POC) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) platform facilitates decentralized diagnosis within an hour. Its technology has been patented in over 100 countries for diagnosing multiple infectious and non-communicable diseases.

Merchant Banking and Employee Reserve​

The IPO is managed by a syndicate of specialized financial institutions, including Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, IIFL Capital Services, Jefferies India, and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors. They serve as the merchant bankers for Molbio Diagnostics' public listing.

The company has set aside equity shares worth ₹1.5 crore specifically for its employees. Eligible staff will be able to acquire these shares at a discount of ₹76 per share off the final offer price, incentivizing internal commitment and growth.
