
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility achieves Unicorn Status in INR 10,822 crore Valuation Following Funding Round Led by Lightrock
Mumbai: Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), a key business of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., has raised approximately INR 322 crore through an equity issuance. This significant investment elevates the valuation of MLMML to approximately INR 10,822 crore, marking its achievement of unicorn status in the electric vehicle market.The funding round saw Lightrock Cayman Holdings Ltd., a global platform focused on sustainable businesses, lead the investment. Existing investors International Finance Corporation (IFC) and India-Japan Fund (IJF) also participated through the exercise of their pre-emptive rights under the existing Shareholders' Agreement.
MLMML executed a Share Subscription Agreement with Lightrock, IFC, and IJF to facilitate this fund raise. Furthermore, the parties completed an Amended and Restated Shareholders' Agreement on July 30, 2026, formalizing Lightrock’s role as a shareholder. The agreement grants Lightrock certain rights, including pre-emptive and transfer related rights.
Market Leadership and Operational Highlights
The funding highlights strong investor confidence in the electrification opportunity within the three-wheeler segment. MLMML continues to lead the electric 3W category, holding an estimated 40% market share in the L5 3W segment.Operational milestones for the company include:
- Electric 3W penetration grew from 12% to 40% over the last two years.
- MLMML recorded a milestone of 100,000 electric three-wheelers (EVs) in FY2026.
Upon the completion and allotment of equity shares by MLMML, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s shareholding in MLMML is expected to decrease from 78.11% to 75.79%. Despite this change, MLMML will remain a subsidiary of the Company following the consummation of the transaction.

MLMML's business growth trajectory is significant, with its last mile mobility business seeing a six-fold (6X) growth in sales of electric three-wheelers over the past four years. The funds aim to support MLMML’s goal of deploying 1 million EVs on Indian roads by 2031.
