Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced significant developments across its portfolio, signing a license agreement for a new property in Jorhat, Assam, marking an expansion into the cultural capital of Northeast India. The company also confirmed that the hotel previously located in Dubai will no longer be managed by the group.

The newly signed Lemon Tree Hotel in Jorhat is set to feature 70 well-appointed rooms and will offer comprehensive amenities including a restaurant, banquet hall, meeting room, swimming pool, spa, and fitness center. The property will be operated by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.

The signing reinforces the company's commitment to strengthening its presence in high-growth regional markets. Jorhat, recognized as the "Tea Capital of the World," is a city with deep cultural significance and a thriving tea industry, featuring over 135 tea gardens, such as Cinnamora and Gatoonga. The hotel is strategically located, being approximately 6 km from Jorhat Airport and 2.5 km from the Jorhat Railway Station.

Commenting on the expansion strategy, Mr. Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President of Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd., stated that the brand's entry into Jorhat meets a demand for quality branded hospitality. He added that the initiative enables the group to serve both business travelers and leisure guests who are exploring the region’s rich cultural and natural attractions.

In an operational update, Lemon Tree Hotels Limited confirmed that the hotel in Dubai, which manages 112 rooms, has been de-flagged by the company. This property will consequently not be part of the Lemon Tree brand umbrella starting from the close of business today.
