JSW Energy Limited has completed the acquisition of additional equity shares in Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited (TJPS) from Toshiba Corporation, Japan. The transaction involved a secondary purchase of equity shares by JSW Energy for a total cash consideration of INR 150 Cr.

Following the completion of the acquisition, JSW Energy significantly increased its ownership stake in TJPS. On a non-diluted basis, the Company's shareholding rose to 20.7%, up from 4.6%. On a fully diluted basis, the holding stands at 10.7%, an increase from 2.4%.

TJPS operates as a joint venture between JSW Energy, Toshiba Corporation, and JSW Steel Limited. The company manages a state-of-the-art facility located in Chennai that specializes in manufacturing large-sized supercritical or ultra-supercritical steam turbine generators ranging up to 1,000 MW.

The acquisition is described as a strategic move designed to strengthen the Company's access to steam turbine generators and enhance supply chain resilience. It also supports JSW Energy’s thermal capacity expansion plans.

JSW Energy has already placed substantial orders with TJPS for ultra-supercritical turbine-generators, totaling 1,600 MW, which further solidifies the company's visibility and access within the critical equipment supply chain.
