The Indian Navy's Sail Training Ship, INS Sudarshini, made a commanding entrance into Boston on July 12, 2026. The ship completed a successful journey after participating in the grand celebrations at Sail4th 250 in New York. This milestone marked the ceremonial commencement of the prestigious Sail Boston 2026 event.

Under the guidance of Shri Raghuram Sastry, Consul General of India in Boston, INS Sudarshini conducted a ceremonial entry into the city. Sailing proudly with the Indian Tricolour, the vessel navigated past key local landmarks, including Castle Island and the Seaport District. The expedition culminated at Boston Fish Pier.

Demonstrating Maritime Diplomacy on the Global Stage​

INS Sudarshini is currently undertaking a vast transoceanic expedition, reinforcing India's commitment to cultural exchange and maritime diplomacy. The ship joined an extensive international fleet for the Grand Parade of Sails in Boston. This fleet included over 60 tall ships representing more than 20 nations.

The participation underscores INS Sudarshini’s role as a goodwill ambassador for India across oceans. This carefully orchestrated display highlights India's growing influence and profound seafaring heritage on the world stage.
