AI to Form Foundation of India’s Growth by 2047

New Delhi, February 24: India is rapidly strengthening its position in the field of artificial intelligence, with experts asserting that AI will be central to the country’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Speaking about the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in the national capital last week, Binay Kumar Singh, Director of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, said that as India approaches 100 years of Independence in 2047, artificial intelligence will serve as a strong foundation for shaping the nation’s future.

He emphasized that modern technology, particularly AI, cannot be overlooked in the development journey. According to him, the summit demonstrated that India is progressing in alignment with advanced and future-ready technologies.

Government Efforts on Naxalism and National Security

Singh also referred to the government’s ongoing efforts to eliminate Naxalism, stating that a deadline of March 31 has been set. He noted that continuous surrenders by Naxal cadres reflect a positive development in this direction.

Criticism of Protest During AI Summit

Addressing the protest carried out by Youth Congress workers during the summit, Singh strongly criticised the demonstration. He said the event was designed to showcase India’s technological progress and should not have been turned into a political platform.

He added that such protests could adversely impact India’s image at the international level. Singh further stated that Rahul Gandhi should have clearly condemned the incident and taken a firm stand on the matter.

According to him, Gandhi should have addressed what he described as inappropriate protests within his party instead of appearing to support them.

Global Participation and Recognition of India’s AI Leadership

Professor Diwan Singh Rawat, Vice-Chancellor of Kumaun University in Nainital, also spoke about the significance of the summit. He said representatives from more than 100 countries and leading figures from the technology sector participated in the event.

Rawat noted that India’s contribution to artificial intelligence has received global recognition and described the summit as an important and successful initiative of the Indian Government.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 underscored the country’s growing influence in the global AI ecosystem and reinforced the role of technology in driving India’s long-term development agenda.
