Honasa Consumer Acquires Fluence Pharma Stake, Unveiling Major Push into Nutraceuticals and Holistic Wellness

Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth, has made a significant strategic pivot in the beauty industry. The conglomerate announced the acquisition of a 58 percent stake in nutraceuticals firm Fluence Pharma. This move formally marks Honasa’s entry into the rapidly expanding nutraceuticals segment, focusing on the "beauty-from-within" market.

The company is set to establish a dedicated subsidiary called Honasa Health Private Limited from this transaction. Through this new entity, Honasa plans to build a consumer-focused nutraceuticals business. This initiative will combine Fluence Pharma’s patented clinical formulations with Honasa's robust brand-building and digital distribution capabilities.

A Strategic Shift Towards Holistic Beauty Solutions

The acquisition reflects a broader trend across the beauty industry landscape. Personal care companies are increasingly moving past topical products. They are expanding aggressively into wellness, supplements, and preventive healthcare categories. This shift is driven by rising consumer demand for complete, holistic beauty solutions.

Varun Alagh, Co-founder and CEO of Honasa Consumer, commented on this evolving market. He stated that "The beauty and personal care landscape is entering a new era where consumers are increasingly seeking holistic, inside-out solutions that address beauty concerns at their root." He added that the next decade would be defined by the convergence of nutraceuticals and science-backed skin and hair care.

Fluence Pharma’s Scientific Foundation and Market Presence

Fluence Pharma, founded by Amit Bhusari and Dr Rajendra Singh Rajput, specializes in condition- and gender-specific OTC supplements for hair and skin issues. The company operates through its proprietary Cyclical Nutrition Therapy (CNT) platform.

As of the reporting period, Fluence Pharma has built an extensive network comprising over 3,000 dermatologists. The firm reported a revenue of around Rs 40 crore, boasting EBITDA margins that exceeded 20 percent in FY26. CEO and Co-founder Amit Bhusari noted that for ten years, the company focused rigorously on grounding its portfolio in science to earn the trust of the medical fraternity.

Building Synergies Through Honasa Health

Honasa confirmed that this strategic acquisition provides multiple critical advantages. It immediately grants access to Fluence's patented formulations and their established clinical expertise. Furthermore, it secures the dermatologist network built by the acquired company.

The collaboration is designed to leverage both companies’ core strengths. Fluence Pharma will gain access to Honasa's consumer reach and its proven digital-first distribution model. This dual advantage ensures a strong market penetration strategy for the new nutraceuticals division.

Honasa plans to drive this vertical expansion in response to intensifying competition within the beauty sector. The company states that combining Fluence’s practitioner-led distribution network with Honasa's consumer insights and marketing capabilities will create a differentiated platform focused intensely on skin and hair health. Dheeraj Nagpal, CEO of Honasa Health and the leader spearheading this deal, is set to head this venture.
